On April 15, 2020, the Hawaii Island K9 Association was founded with a simple but powerful purpose—to stand behind the K9s who stand on the front lines for our community every day.
These remarkable dogs are more than partners; they are protectors, lifesavers, and loyal companions to the handlers who depend on them. Yet behind every successful K9 team is a need for ongoing care, more K9’s, training, and support. That’s where we come in.
The Hawaii Island K9 Association is dedicated to ensuring that every K9 has what they need to thrive—safe and comfortable kennels, reliable equipment, advanced training, and access to professional medical care. We work closely with agencies and organizations across the island to provide both financial assistance and hands-on support wherever it’s needed most.
But our story doesn’t stop there. We believe the strength of our K9 teams is deeply connected to the community they serve. Through fundraising, donations, and educational outreach, we invite our community to be part of something meaningful—to learn, to give, and to support these incredible dogs and their mission.
Because when we support our K9s, we’re helping protect the very place we call home.
